Pop AI is a non-profit association founded in 2018 by Emanuela Girardi. Pop AI works to make artificial intelligence “POP”, popular, accessible to all. Artificial intelligence (AI) is a general-purpose technology that will revolutionise all sectors of the economy and drastically alter our society. AI is changing and will increasingly change the way we work, learn, move, care and communicate.
These technologies offer great opportunities but there are also risks associated if they are used without fully understanding them or even with malicious intent. Pop AI promotes the dissemination and conscious use of these technologies. We believe that by understanding the risks and knowing how to mitigate them is necessary to fully exploit the benefits AI can bring.
European Ai Vision: Trustworthy and human-centric AI for the sustainable development
Pop AI strongly supports the European vision of AI, which envisages the development and use of trustworthy, human-centric AI technologies. Artificial intelligence that respects laws, ethical principles and is technically and socially robust. Starting by placing human beings as the focus point and going further, by placing the planet at the centre and use AI technologies to achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the UN 2030 Agenda.
AI technologies combined with a multi-disciplinary approach can help us tackle and solve complex problems for which we have not yet found a solution, such as major contemporary challenges like climate change and the energy crisis.
Properly used and directed AI can lead us towards an economic development model that is also socially and environmentally sustainable.

Pop AI promotes informed and safe usage of artificial intelligence technologies in various areas:
EDUCATION:
We collaborate with schools and universities to teach artificial intelligence skills to students.
SUSTAINABILITY:
We organise events and we run research projects to promote the use of artificial intelligence to achieve the UN 2030 Agenda’s sustainable development goals.
PUBLIC POLICY:
We analyse global policies on artificial intelligence and support companies, international organisations, and governments to develop AI strategies, geared towards sustainable development.
ENTERPRISE:
We support companies and organisations and help in the development of artificial intelligence projects.
